Nudgee International College Study Abroad Program 2009-10 - English program prior to entry into High School.

Study Abroad Program at Nudgee International College:

The Nudgee International College Study Abroad Program offers students an excellent opportunity to improve their English ability by attending high school (Years 8-11) in Australia and integrating with local students for a
period of 3 months, 6 months or 1 year.

Students attend Nudgee International College (NIC) for a 10 week intensive
English program prior to entry into High School if required. Students can also choose to study English only at Nudgee International College.

Who should do this course?

Students with an Intermediate level of English who would like to experience the Australian culture while studying in an Australian High School.
Student who would like to obtain a higher level of English proficiency

Entry Requirements:

• Applicants should be between 13-19 years of age
• Application form to be accompanied by two years of academic records (translated into English)
• Students to have studied English for a minimum of 2 years.
• Students will be tested on arrival and may be required to undertake up to 10 weeks of English at NIC.

Nudgee International College partners with the following private schools in Brisbane for the Study Abroad Program:

• St. Joseph’s Nudgee College (boys only)
• Corpus Christi College (girls only)
• St. James College (co-ed)
• Other partner schools on application.

Commencement Dates:

• Program Type English – 10 weeks (if required) or English studies only
• HIGH SCHOOL
• 3, 6 or 12 months English studies commence on any Monday January 2009
• April 2009
• July 2009
• January 2010

Application Process:

• Complete NIC application form and fax to us
• NIC will assess the application and make an offer within 2 working days
• Acceptance of offer and full payment required prior to issue of CoE
• Homestay application form and full payment of homestay fees required
• Students will sit an English placement test upon arrival

• Nudgee International College organises homestay accommodation for students with one of our safe, friendly homestay families.

Homestay accommodation includes:

• Three meals a day – breakfast, lunch & dinner
• Weekly laundry service
• Emergency support and counselling available
• Airport pick up upon arrival (if required)
• Students will be assisted with school orientation and subject selection
• Each term students will assisted with school orientation and subject selection
• Each term students will be issued with a report card detailing the students results for each subject along with their attendance level
